LIES AND LEGENDS: THE MUSICAL STORIES OF HARRY CHAPIN (co-creator). Productions of LIES AND LEGENDS, staged by Tracy, have been seen in Chicago, LA, Toronto, New York, Dallas, and Aspen, Colorado. Published by the Rodgers & Hammerstein Music Library; produced regularly in regional theaters.
THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, a theatrical fantasy based on songs by Randy Newman, conceived, written, directed and choreographed by Tracy; received its original production at the Wisdom Bridge Theater in Chicago under the auspices of Robert Falls. THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE went on to receive critically acclaimed productions in New York, Philadelphia and Dallas. Published by Rodgers & Hammerstein; cited as one of the “Ten Best Plays of the Year” in New York Magazine (John Simon), The Chicago Tribune (Richard Christiansen) and The Dallas Morning News.
FAME: THE MUSICAL – in 2001 Tracy was brought in as writer and show doctor for the troubled National Tour. With a new script, written by Tracy, the show ran three years, playing to sold out audiences all over the US and Canada. Published by Music Theatre International, FAME: THE MUSICAL enjoyed a successful Off-Broadway run in 2004.
AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH – in 2003 and again in 2004, Tracy collaborated with Berry Gordy, Jr. on the script for this Broadway bound Motown musical.
